How does your FOOD affect your MOOD??

Sometimes we don’t realise how much our food can affect the way we think, work, live. I have listed a few common symptoms and ways to conquer them through the foods you eat. Is it important stay healthy especially for work, school, college, uni etc.

No energy? Moody?
This is caused by fluctuating blood-sugar levels giving you hyperactive moments but can leave you feeling stressed and tired the next. Instead of eating more junk be sure to add a few of these to your diet:

SWEET POTATOES     ORANGES     BROWN RICE   WALNUTS    BLACK BEANS    PEAS    BLUEBERRIES
COURGETTES       HONEY    CHICKPEAS     KALE       PRUNES       TOFU      LEEKS       RASPBERRIES
LENTILS     GREEN TEA       CINNAMON   GRAPEFRUIT    OATS

FALLING ASLEEP working?
Fatigue is something that occurs even when you have had the required hours of sleep (8 hours) yet your still left sleepy. It is normally the result of not eating all the nutrients your body needs to function, this may include vitamin B, minerals, protein. If problems persist seek medical advice.

Here are a list of foods you should eat:
TUNA      CASHEWS          BRAZIL NUTS           SUNFLOWER SEEDS     BANANAS   MUSHROOMS
WHEAT GERM            ASPARAGUS
Deadly HEADACHES and MIGRAINES??
There is a various amount of stimuli, such as the expansion of blood vessels in the head or complete tiredness that can be the causation for this annoying drill in your brain feeling. To create a relief from this or to prevent this pain you can introduce foods that are rich in calcium, omega-3 oils, magnesium or vitamin B2.

FRUIT    YOGHURT    BROCOLLI     KALE   FIGS     OYSTERS     TROUT    SALMON   TUNA    AVOCADOS DRIED FRUIT    DARK CHOCOLATE      BEEF      MUSHROOMS       ALMONDS
There are also foods to refrain from or minimise in your diet as they trigger migraines:

PICKLES       PRESERVED MEAT       ARTIFICAL SWEETNER ASPARTAME        FATTY FOODS
COFFEE        STRONG CHEESES

Anaemic? Periods KILLING your JOY?
Many women suffer from anaemia due to eating little or no meat, yet when you are on your period your body absorbs iron from meat and fish more easily than any other source of food. Foods that are high in vitamin C also assist the body in absorbing iron. If you’re still exhausted please seek medical advice. These are the foods you should eat:

VENISON    GREEN BEANS    CHICKPEAS        SEA VEGETABLES    EGGS   YOGHURT    SALMON
MUSSELS    SPINACH    SWEET POTATOES    MILK   PRUNES   OYSTERS

Is University for you? The Uni Guide

hmmm...To go to uni or not to go to uni?

Hey, as you may already know I recently graduated from university. At times I wonder to myself was it really worth it?
Questions you have to ask yourself:
1. What are your reasons for going?
2. What are your future goals?
3. Does your future goals require a degree?
4. Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
5. Have you prayed about it?
6. Do you believe God has led you to go to this uni?
7. Do you wish to study further and do a postgraduate course in the future?
8. How passionate are you about this course and where do you expect it to take you?

Did you know?
1. There are many successful people who do not have a degree such as Jamal Edward's (SBTV), Coco Chanel and founder of Walt Disney (the list goes on)
2. Many graduate schemes do not require a specific degree however in some jobs a specific degree is needed, for example, to be a doctor in the UK you need a degree in medicine and surgery etc. So do your research!
3. Many high jobs require a person degree educated

However.....

There are apprenticeships, internships and ways of getting into a job as a trainee and working your way up. Your options are not limited, and what might work for someone else may not work for you. Experience is very vital and is the word a lot of graduates hear when applying for a job. So whatever your decision is do not feel like a failure.

Even though I completed my course I know that it's not an area of work I want to go into. I think it was always my back up plan and really I had a dream of where I wanted to go and that was more in the creative aspect of things. During my time at university however, I joined many societies including performing arts , cheerleading, salsa, Kung -fu etc (not all uni years) yessss a lot of people wondered how I juggled all this and yes it was difficult at times in fact in my third year I had to drop most societies and stick to one!

But being creative has always been part of who I am. I wonder whether if I was able to explore more in my actual gifts more thoroughly would I be far today in the industry? I look back and realise that it was all part of God's plan. University really prepared me not only through the societies I joined but the people I met, the experiences I had. I'm very shy at times and uni really helped mould me as a woman, just moving away from home was such a big deal and it's nice to know that I can actually look after myself well, I've gained so much confidence and strength. I wouldn't change it for the world, otherwise I would never be me, and I'm proud of who I am.
